1.In your donation pile I am sure you have one colorful pair of socks grab them out of there before they get donated.
2.Once you have your sock cut of the sock part you have a long skirt if you want to shorten it just cut it in half.I would recommend cutting it in half.
the other half can be used as a top.
3.If you want a strapless top you are done if you don't cut out a round piece of sock put it over your dolls head like a necklace and take a hot glue gun and just glue it in.If you don't have an american girl doll belt you can buy ribbon and tie it around the dress.
